      <description><![CDATA[<p>Wales’ favourite pie maker is pulling out all the stops to support our very own Bonnie Tyler as she gets set to represent the United Kingdom at this Saturday’s Eurovision Song Contest.</p><p>Peter’s &#8211; the Caerphilly-based creators of some of the nation’s best loved pastry treats &#8211; have come up with their own take on a classic Eurovision entry – affectionately known as the ‘Bonnie ‘Pie’ ler’.</p>

	<p>The ham, cheese, leek and potato offering combines all the ingredients needed to guarantee Eurovision success – it’s totally Welsh, a food chart topper – and with a little bit of extra cheese thrown in for good measure!</p>

	<p>Speaking about their latest pie tribute, Peter’s marketing controller, Clare Morgan said:</p>

	<p>“We’re huge Eurovision fans at Peter’s and to have a Welsh star like Bonnie taking to the stage this weekend to represent the UK is something we felt we just had to recognise with a pie created especially in her honour.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Organised and hosted by the Melton Mowbray Pork Pie association, Peter’s came away with a Gold Award for the Premier Chicken &amp; Mushroom Pie, a Silver for the Gastropub Ham, Cheese, Leek &amp; Potato Pie and a Sliver for the Gastropub Chicken &amp; Mushroom Pie. </p><p>Judged by one hundred pie experts including top food critic Charles Campion, TV chef Rachel Green and <span class="caps">BBC</span> sports commentator Jonathan Agnew, pies at the awards were submitted across 20 classes in total. </p>

	<p>With a staggering 983 pies entered, the criteria for the tough judging job covered many top pie attributes such as appearance, texture, and taste of both pastry and filling.</p>

	<p>Clare Morgan, Marketing Controller: “We are thrilled that our hard work and passion for creating great pies has been recognised. The standard of pies entered into the awards is so high – which make winning a British Pie Award such a great honour for Peter’s”. </p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>As Cardiff City prepares for the excitement of lifting the Championship trophy following today’s home clash with Bolton, Wales’ favourite pie-maker, Peter’s, has created its very own fitting tribute.</p><p>Lovingly baked at the company’s Caerphilly bakery, the cheese, ham, leek and potato creation was presented at the team’s training session yesterday where it was officially declared to be the pie of Cham’pie’ons!</p>

	<p>Peter’s currently sponsor the Family Stand at the Cardiff City Stadium and throughout the season, have regularly fed the fans on their long trips around the country, supporting the Champions in their quest for a Premier League place.</p>

	<p>The Cham’pie’onship’ Pie is a new take on the company’s Welsh pie – voted as the nation’s favourite at last year’s Royal Welsh Show.</p>

	<p>The pie features only the best ingredients, including Pembrokeshire ham, smothered in a rich creamy sauce made from extra mature Welsh cheese, generously filled with potatoes and to top off the ingredients list, the good old leek!</p>

	<p>Speaking about the one-off pastry, Peter’s marketing controller, Clare Morgan said:<br />
“We’re absolutely delighted with Cardiff City’s success and wanted to do something to mark this momentous occasion in the club’s history.<br />

      <description><![CDATA[<p>In an evening of glitz and glamour at the Football League Awards, the Peter’s Family Stand Sponsored club, picked up the award on Sunday evening in front of over 600 guests from clubs, sponsors and the football industry.</p><p>As part of their sponsorship &amp; support, Peter’s have given fans the chance to win unique matchday tickets, sampled free products in the Family Stand and have had young Bluebirds enjoying the big game experience by playing “Peter’s Hot Shot Football” game with mascot “Pete the Pie”.</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>With “tongue firmly in cheek”, Peter’s launched the #OccuPie campaign to the streets of Cardiff, asking people to join the pie revolution and to help “Give Pies a Chance”!</p><p>Supported by lovable new mascot “Pete the Pie”, the Peter’s march on the nations capital stretched across the breadth of the city. </p>

	<p>Starting at Cardiff Central Station, the march moved onto Cardiff Castle &amp;  Cardiff University,  and then hit the sights of the Millennium Stadium &amp; Wales Millennium Centre, and the streets of Queen’s &amp; St Mary&#8217;s. </p>

	<p>Touring the city, the march was also joined by Peter’s <span class="caps">GIANT</span> Pie Mobile, with many people taking pictures and beeping their car horns in support of the campaign.</p>

	<p>Owain Jones, Peter’s Marketing said, “The response to our OccuPie campaign was wonderful! The people of Wales really do love their pies and firmly enjoyed supporting &amp; joining in with our march! ‘Pete the Pie’ was really the star of the day, with hundreds of people showing their support by giving him a proper Welsh cwtch!”</p>

	<p>#OccuPie was also supported by local theatre group the ‘Unknown Theatre Company’. The group surprised Queens Arcade shoppers with a cheekily named “Live &amp; Let Pie”  flash-mob dance performance.</p>

	<p>Jones continued, “The theatre group were amazing! They really helped us to deliver our #OccuPie message and gave many shoppers a lot to smile about.”</p>

      <description><![CDATA[<p>Peter’s Premier Pies have won yet another award – although this time the judges were a little bit different than what they are used to.</p><p>With Swansea City securing their place against Bradford City in the Capital One Cup Final on the 24th February, ‘The One Show’ put the clubs head-to-head with a range of quirky club contests. One such contest was to see which club had the best tasting pie in a live ‘pie-off’ on Friday’s show, between the pies from Swansea City, baked by Peter’s; going head-to-head against the pies of match-day rivals Bradford City.</p>

	<p>Clare Morgan, Marketing Controller, “ ‘The One Show’ is one of the most watched &amp; well-known programmes, so we were delighted to submit our pies for the “pie-off” and show our support for our Cup Final team. Although we were very confident that our pies would prove to be the favourite, I must say that we were nervously awaiting the result!”</p>

	<p>The “pie-off” was hotly contested, with both Peter’s Steak &amp; Worthington’s Pie and the Bradford’s Chicken Balti Pie, tantalising the taste buds with the guest judge; celebrity and TV presenter Steve Jones. </p>

	<p>Morgan continues, “It was a close call with both pies proving popular, but our Premier class shone through, with the Steak &amp; Worthington’s Pie, baked exclusively for Swansea City, proving to be the winner!”</p>

	<p>As Swansea City prepared for the Capital One Cup Final, Peter’s also prepared a tasty treat for over 2,000 Swans fans heading to Wembley by giving out a range of products to the high spirited fans leaving on club coaches.</p>

	<p>John McAughtrie, Foodservice Director, and a big Swansea City fan, explains: “The heart of a football club is its fans. They’re the ones that turn up through thick and thin, in bad times and good, and the weekend was all about them. 	<p>Daniel Oliver, Peter’s “Meet the Player” competition winner, “I was delighted to find out that I had won this prize. I’ve been a Bluebirds supporter since I was very young and my dad used to take me to the matches at Ninian Park. To come here today, see the training facilities and get up close to the players was an amazing experience.” </p>

	<p>Not only did Daniel, who was joined by fellow City supporter &amp; dad Michael Oliver, get the top class tour, but he also got to sit down, enjoy a coffee and have a unique 20-minute Q&amp;A with Cardiff Manager Malky Mackay.</p>
