Aberdare’s young stars given fresh look thanks to Peter’s Slice of the Pie
An Aberdare based performing arts group has benefited from Peter’s Slice of the Pie Community Fund.
Showcase Performing Arts won funding for brand new personalised t-shirts from Wales’ premier pie-maker after completing the Peter’s Food online application form with a strong bid.
Showcase is a registered charity and large performing arts group. They have over 100 members ranging from 6-year-olds to 27-year-olds, and cater to anyone and everyone regardless of ability, experience or background.
Pam Williams, Director of Showcase Performing Arts said: “We are delighted with the funding from Peter’s Food; we feel so professional performing and fundraising with our brand new look.
“Every year we produce musicals, plays and pantomimes for charity and community events. However, as a charity we have not had the funds to provide our performers with a professional looking uniform. For all the shows we do, we rely heavily on donations such as lottery funding and community grants.”
The professional t-shirts feature the Showcase theatre logo to promote awareness of the company, and will be worn at concerts and public events as the young singers, dancers and actors entertain and raise money.
Pam added: “Thanks to Peter’s Slice of the Pie, the group can now feel proud at events and can actively promote Showcase and their place in the team.”
Claire Conway, Marketing Manager at the Caerphilly-based food giant said: “Theatre helps to bring the community together and teaches life skills that will benefit young people for years to come.
“We are proud to be able to provide Showcase with a fresh new look so they can continue with upcoming events and performances both feeling and looking the part.
“Peter’s has gone from strength to strength since the early days as a small south Wales pie manufacturer, and we are thrilled to be able to support the local communities that have always supported us.”
The next production in the pipeline for Showcase is the musical ‘Our House’, which will be performed at the Coliseum Theatre from 7th – 10th May.
