Howzat!! Crwys Primary School get to crips with Peter’s cricket kit prize
South Wales schoolboy Callum Hobbs, of Crwys Primary School, was bowled over last month when he won his school a top-of-the-range junior cricket set by specialist sports firm Kookaburra.
The kit, offered as a prize from Peter’s on the legendary children’s page of the South Wales Evening Post, included three bats, three pairs of batting gloves, three pairs of batting pads, a pair of wicket keeper gloves and inners, a pair of wicket keeper pads and three safety helmets.
Phil Withey, Headteacher at Crwys Primary School: “We are delighted to receive the equipment because we are a school that values cricket highly. The school team plays throughout the summer term and the new kit will, I am sure, be a source of extra motivation.”
Peter’s marketing controller Clare Morgan said: “When Callum said he’ll donate the set to his primary school; we thought it was a wonderful gesture. We’re very pleased that the kit has gone to a good home, and we hope the school children will have many good years using the kit and continue to enjoy the sport they love to play.”
