Hungry for pie-eating success? Sign up for the Peter’s and George Thomas Hospice pie-eating contest!
Everyone knows the Welsh love a good pie, but how many could you eat in ten minutes?
Wales’ favourite pie-maker Peter’s Pies has teamed up with George Thomas Hospice Care in Cardiff for their latest fundraising venture: a Peter’s pie-eating contest.
The event will be held at 7pm on Monday 24th February in Walkabout on St. Mary’s Street, Cardiff.
There are men and women’s challenges in two categories: fastest pie eaten and the most pies eaten in ten minutes.
Peckish pie-eaters will go head to head in the battle, hungry to be crowned a ‘Pie Champion’.
Nicky Piper, Events Manager for the hospice said: “Our pie of choice is the Peter’s minced beef and onion oval pie, a favourite amongst the Welsh.
“If you love pie and want to put your pie-eating prowess to good use – this is the challenge for you.
“We’re really excited to work with Peter’s.”
The competition is free to enter; all challengers have to do is raise sponsorship for the hospice before they compete.
George Thomas supports up to 1000 cancer patients and their families every year, providing specialist home-based nursing, medical equipment, counselling and more.
Clare Morgan, Marketing Director for Peter’s said: “The George Thomas hospice does an incredible job and we’re delighted to support this event.
“Peter’s pies are the pies of Wales, so we hope our pastry-lovers across the region will sign up to raise funds for this worthy cause, however large or small.”
