Peter’s call upon the people of Wales to show their love for pies
With “tongue firmly in cheek”, Peter’s launched the #OccuPie campaign to the streets of Cardiff, asking people to join the pie revolution and to help “Give Pies a Chance”!
Supported by lovable new mascot “Pete the Pie”, the Peter’s march on the nations capital stretched across the breadth of the city.
Starting at Cardiff Central Station, the march moved onto Cardiff Castle & Cardiff University, and then hit the sights of the Millennium Stadium & Wales Millennium Centre, and the streets of Queen’s & St Mary’s.
Touring the city, the march was also joined by Peter’s GIANT Pie Mobile, with many people taking pictures and beeping their car horns in support of the campaign.
Owain Jones, Peter’s Marketing said, “The response to our OccuPie campaign was wonderful! The people of Wales really do love their pies and firmly enjoyed supporting & joining in with our march! ‘Pete the Pie’ was really the star of the day, with hundreds of people showing their support by giving him a proper Welsh cwtch!”
#OccuPie was also supported by local theatre group the ‘Unknown Theatre Company’. The group surprised Queens Arcade shoppers with a cheekily named “Live & Let Pie” flash-mob dance performance.
Jones continued, “The theatre group were amazing! They really helped us to deliver our #OccuPie message and gave many shoppers a lot to smile about.”
