Peter’s kicks off Mini-Me search ahead of the Dove Men Series 2012
As excitement builds for this year’s autumn international rugby one of Wales’ favourite pastry makers has launched its popular ‘Mini-Me’ campaign in search of junior lookalikes for the current Welsh rugby team.
Peter’s, based in Bedwas near Caerphilly, had an overwhelming response to its first ’Mini-Me’ campaign in 2010, with little lookalikes of Adam Jones, Mike Phillips, Ryan Jones, George North and Stephen Jones coming forward from across the whole of Wales.
Now – as Rob Howely has announced his 35 man squad ahead of the upcoming Dove Mens Series against New Zealand, Argentina, Australia and Samoa – the search is on to find this year’s crop of Welsh rugby ‘mini-mes’.
The winners are set to receive sought-after tickets for the Wales v New Zealand clash at the Millennium Stadium on November 24th, as well as a WRU official shirt and WRU rugby ball.
Peter’s marketing controller Clare Morgan said: “We had great fun with our last Mini Me competition, with hundreds of brilliant entries from across Wales. We can’t wait to see this year’s lookalikes and create a new team of mini-mes.
“Both boys and girls are encouraged to enter and it’s fine to use wigs and beards if necessary!”
She continued: “Here at Peter’s we are passionate about Welsh Rugby, and we love to show our support to the team. Last year, we created a pastry mosaic of Jamie Roberts, who was voted our ‘tastiest’ player of the year. We’re looking forward to another great autumn international and 6 Nations campaign and Peter’s will be behind the Welsh team all the way.”
Simon Rowe, Sponsorship Manager for WRU said “We are really happy to support Peter’s with the campaign for the second time, not only is it fun but also brings the young Welsh rugby fans closer to the action”.
