Peter’s Produces Pie of Cham’pie’ons!
As Cardiff City prepares for the excitement of lifting the Championship trophy following today’s home clash with Bolton, Wales’ favourite pie-maker, Peter’s, has created its very own fitting tribute.
Lovingly baked at the company’s Caerphilly bakery, the cheese, ham, leek and potato creation was presented at the team’s training session yesterday where it was officially declared to be the pie of Cham’pie’ons!
Peter’s currently sponsor the Family Stand at the Cardiff City Stadium and throughout the season, have regularly fed the fans on their long trips around the country, supporting the Champions in their quest for a Premier League place.
The Cham’pie’onship’ Pie is a new take on the company’s Welsh pie – voted as the nation’s favourite at last year’s Royal Welsh Show.
The pie features only the best ingredients, including Pembrokeshire ham, smothered in a rich creamy sauce made from extra mature Welsh cheese, generously filled with potatoes and to top off the ingredients list, the good old leek!
Speaking about the one-off pastry, Peter’s marketing controller, Clare Morgan said:
“We’re absolutely delighted with Cardiff City’s success and wanted to do something to mark this momentous occasion in the club’s history.
“We know that Cardiff fans love a Peter’s pie on match day and we have enjoyed supplying them with their favourites through the amazing season we’ve all witnessed.
- Cardiff City are truly deserving champions!”
Cardiff City’s Nic Heslop Commercial Manager added:
“Peter’s are great supporters of the club – both through their sponsorship and the many other events they are involved with through the season.
“The team obviously can’t wait to lift the trophy tomorrow in front of a sell-out home crowd and to have our very own Cham’pie’ons pies to commemorate the event is a fun bonus!”
